I can only tell this story as it was told to me, because I was only a baby when we lived there.
My parents were renting an old farmhouse in Grand Bend (right across from the sky diving school). I grew up "knowing" that it was haunted because my parents would tell the stories over and over again.
Apparently we had quite an active spirit in the house. Every night the house would be tidied up and the doors would get locked before bedtime, yet every morning they would be unlocked, and in some cases wide open. Pictures on the wall would be upside down (whether they were "re hung" or just twisted around, I don't know).
Apparently as a toddler, I had a fascination with the upper floor of the house and would keep escaping my mother's watchful eye and make my way upstairs where she could hear me "talking" away like I was in a deeply involved conversation. Of course, nobody was answering me, and I always figured the contstant stair climbing was just the stubborn will of a toddler running amok.
My father was an avid hunter and owned several hunting beagles. They were trained not to bark unless they were on a hunt, but one winter night they were going absolutely crazy in the barn. Thinking that a badger, fox or other animal had gotten into the barn to keep warm, he went out to the barn to investigate. He couldn't see anything out of the ordinary, but all the dogs were facing the same area, barking & growling like mad. He said he felt the hairs on the back of his neck standing on end and suddenly felt very threatened. By the time he made it back to the house, he was reportedly white as a sheet and shaking like a leaf.
That house has since burned down to the ground (I'm not sure how) and I believe it has been replaced with another. I often wonder if the new owners experience anything?
As an interesting side note, I had a recurring dream as a child. I never see myself in my dreams, I only see what I'm looking at, almost like I'm filming with a video camera. Anyhow, I used to dream all the time of walking through a house. It was always the same and I remembered every detail. The curtains, the wall paper, the bookshelves, everything. In my middle teens, I was having a conversation with my mother about dreams and told her about this one. She told me I was describing the farmhouse as it was before they moved into it. She was even able to tell me other details I had not told her. Being that I was only 6 months old when we moved there, I don't think I would have the capacity to remember what it looked like back then.
Maybe there was somebody in the upstairs of the house who spoke to me & told me (or showed me) things about their life that I carried with me for years.
Any insights?

That is a pretty cool story. It would interesting to see if people are still experiencing stuff on the property. About your dream, who knows. The
subconscious mind is strange place. If I was to tell people my dreams I'd probably get locked up in the loony bin. It could be a photo you saw once and it's stuck with you or someone discribed it to you once and in your mind you made it your own. Like I said, who knows.

Thanks for sharing though.
